Meet the Team Supporting You Through the Development Process

Center for Learning Design and Technology (CLDT)

The CLDT team has expanded over the past couple of years to better serve Whiting School faculty. With all these changes, it may be challenging to know who is doing what and how we can help you. Fear not! Here is a useful guide to the CLDT.

Learning Design

The Learning Design team’s main function is to provide teaching and learning support when faculty members are creating a new course, revising an existing course, or have any kind of pedagogical need. The instructional designers collaborate with faculty, librarians, and other CLDT members to help create high-quality learning experiences for WSE students. Additionally, the Learning Design team leads faculty development efforts through the Faculty Forward Academy to further strengthen teaching and learning across the campus.

Quality Assurance and Course Support

4 member QA and course support team

The Quality Assurance and Course Support team collaborates closely with the instructional design unit to support its content development efforts. We assure quality in all development tasks, including reviewing documents and presentations, building content in the learning management system (Canvas), ensuring accessibility of course content, and conducting formal quality reviews of all developed courses.

Instructional Technology

The Instructional Technology team helps faculty enhance student learning by incorporating technology into the classroom—both online and on campus. We support its infrastructure implementation & maintenance, administration, advising and project management. When you contact the Help Desk, we’re here to help.

Multimedia Production

5 person Media production team

The Multimedia Production team consists of videographers, producers, studio technicians, and editors who provide a variety of media services to enhance course lectures, presentations, promotions, and livestream content for the entire WSE community. We collaborate with internal and external clients to develop a personalized approach for each multimedia project.

Multimedia Systems

7 person media systems team

The Multimedia Systems team designs, builds, and maintains huddle rooms, conference rooms, and classroom spaces across multiple Johns Hopkins campuses. In addition to designing and deploying collaborative spaces, we provide support for in-person, hybrid and remote events, general pool classrooms, and digital signage for all WSE faculty, staff, and affiliates.
