Blind student Ailee Dixon and her former science teacher, WSE instructional designer Sara Shunkwiler, now share the research, stats, and stories behind disability in STEM. Join us for a sometimes irreverent look at our 10-year disability journey together from bathroom stalls inaccessible to wheelchairs to STEM courses inaccessible to screen readers. Bring questions on alt text, using AI for accurate accessibility, and how we can design a more inclusive future in STEM. It’s OK to laugh, and ALL questions about disability and accessibility are welcome!
