Course Quality Benchmarks
Excerpt: When you design, develop, and teach an online course, how do you know it’s “high quality”?
Course Description: If someone asked you what a quality online course is, how would you define quality? . . . In mid-2020, the Center for Learning Design and Technology (CLDT) staff began to ask ourselves these questions. Primarily we wanted to know how to define “quality” for evaluation of online courses. In this asynchronous online self-paced course, we introduce Quality Matters™, the online course design quality standards we have adopted in our quest to further define quality. Additionally, we share other specific quality standards we developed. Participants will gain a broad understanding of how the quality benchmarks are being implemented and considerations for evaluating the quality of their own course.
